It's been forever. I'm in the mood for a little art stream over on Picarto. Come watch and chat if you want!

With the rampant use of AI and its lack of ethics, I've heard that even companies like Meta are employing it for their social media platforms. I already hate social media as a whole in its current state, but obviously I need someplace to promote myself if I want more outreach as an artist.

So, this thing call Cara came up in my peripheral. I don't know if anyone else has heard of it, but from the cursory glance I've taken, it looks like an extremely promising alternative to platforms like Instagram and the site formally known as Twitter. Like Sheezy.art, Cara is still in beta, is being run by a small but dedicated team of volunteers, and they have a strong stance against AI until legislation can make it more ethical, which I am all for. Cara seems to also be one of those sites/apps that has garnered support from major studios like Marvel, Sony, and the like. They operate largely as a social portfolio platform built to make connections with clients and studios, but pretty much anyone can use it. Kind of like Art Station but again with a clear stance on AI generated images.

I've just signed up for Cara, so if anyone is interested I am there now too! Seems I have another place to start uploading my art, but I don't think I'll be reuploading my backlog there, that'd be a bit silly. My thought is that I can use it as my portfolio place to create outreach to clients and employers once I've built up my gallery enough, so here's hoping it works out!

If anyone does want to try it out, keep in mind it is in beta, the team is small, and the site may not work correctly a hundred percent of the time, but it seems worth it.

Almost forgot to let people know, my backlog from my old DeviantArt gallery has all been uploaded to my Sheezy.art account! I know getting an account is pretty difficult right now for some because it's still in Beta until January, but if you are able to and you are interested, feel free to follow me over there! I think I may make that place my mainstay and this place my secondary gallery? Not too sure, but I will be posting in both places equally including my Ko-fi page, which is where I will always post my art first. Posting in general will be slower for a while just because I'm trying to get through school, but other than that, I feel like I'm finally able to place roots away from DeviantArt.

Thank you to my new followers and old ones who followed me from my old account! Your support always means a lot to me! Here's to new beginnings!

Completely forgot I made one a long while ago, whoops. If anyone's interested you can find it here: https://sheezy.art/earthgwee

I don't have anything there yet, but I'll dump my old art there too sometime soon.

Right, so, I guess I'm supposed to introduce myself here.

Hello everyone, my name is Earth Gwee. I am a smalltime digital artist who likes to draw cartoon characters. I previously had an account on DeviantArt, lived there for over 16 years building myself up as an artist since high school, made a lot of great friends I keep to this day, saw many of the changes the site has gone through. DeviantArt in recent years has become a cesspool of AI art vomit, so I finally decided enough was enough. I'm moving my art to a new home where I can hopefully start building myself up again as I pursue a Master's Degree in visual development.

It hurts seeing an art site I loved so much, where I got my start in the online sphere, go downhill so quickly that it barely respects real artists anymore, blatantly so. It's hard not to lament what once was. Leaving there for good is going to be tough, but I am hopeful that I can love this site as much as I used to love DeviantArt. I will, however, be leaving my gallery there as it is now as a mark in my history.

Anyway, I'll be dumping all my art here, both old and recent. I hope you all like what I have to offer and thanks for having me!
